Melody is the multidisciplinary artist behind Soft Chick, working across graphic design, murals, performance art, children’s book illustration, and community arts. Their work has been featured by Bloomberg Philanthropies, Long Beach Museum of Art, Angels Gate Cultural Center, and Arts United San Pedro. Drawing from their Cambodian and Honduran heritage and lived experiences, they create works that explore the intersections of identity, intergenerational histories, bodily autonomy, and social equity.

Soft Chick is a full-time artist with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development. Their interdisciplinary studies explored health sciences, human services, trauma-informed care, and the social policies that shape our well-being. These experiences continue to inform their approach to visual design, grounded in empathy, curiosity, and an understanding of how our lives are shaped by one another.

Soft Chick is a recipient of the Arts United Community Grant. They have led educational workshops with the Long Beach Public Library, participated in a summer residency at Slanguage, and were featured in Knowing Our Joy: Stories of Southeast Asian Diaspora Elders. They are also a featured artist in the Community Corners Project, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies in collaboration with the Arts Council for Long Beach. Their work has been exhibited at The Odyssey SF Art Gallery, Flux Art Space, the Nomad Art Fair presented by Torrance Art Museum, Billie Jean King Main Library, and Art Share L.A.
